Please read these terms and conditions carefully before using this site. These terms were published on 24 August 2026.
These terms tell you the rules for using the IPAD Indonesian Prehistoric Archaeology Database (“IPAD”, “we”, “us”) website (this “site”). After this first mention we usually say “IPAD”.
Who we are and how to contact us
This site is operated by the IPAD Indonesian Prehistoric Archaeology Database.
IPAD allows you to access information from the Indonesian prehistoric archaeology database and uses Arches, an open-source heritage data management platform developed by the Getty Conservation Institute and the World Monuments Fund.

By accessing and using this site, you confirm that you accept these terms of use and that you agree to comply with them. These terms of use are a legal agreement between you and us.

These terms of use apply to members of the public (“General Users”) who are accessing IPAD for basic search purposes. General Users have read-only access to the data that IPAD has chosen to make public.

This site is made available to General Users free of charge.

We may transfer this agreement to someone else

Intended audience
This site is provided for people interested in Indonesian prehistoric archaeology. We do not represent that content available on or through this site is appropriate for use or available in every location.
You must keep your account details safe
General Users do not need login details to use the public parts of this site, although we reserve the right to change this in the future.
If you are asked to choose, or you are provided with, a user identification code, password, or any other piece of information as part of our security procedures, you must treat such information as confidential. You must not disclose it to any third party.
We have the right to disable any user identification code or password, whether chosen by you or allocated by us, at any time, if in our reasonable opinion you have failed to comply with any of the provisions of these terms of use.
If you know or suspect that anyone other than you knows your user identification code or password, you must promptly notify us at cata@nusantaraheritage.org.
How you may use this site
You must use this site and the information available from it responsibly. No such information may be used for or in connection with any unlawful, immoral, or anti-social purpose, or in a manner which is or may be damaging to our name or reputation or prejudicial to any of the featured sites or properties, their owners, or occupants.
This site is designed to meet the needs of a wide range of users wishing to look up information online. Due to limitations of equipment and bandwidth, this site is not intended to be a source for bulk downloads. Users, IP addresses, or blocks of IP addresses who deny or degrade service to other users by generating unusually high numbers of database accesses, whether generated manually or by automated means, may be denied access without notice.
How you may use material on this site
We are the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights in this site, and in the material published on it. Site content and database contents are protected by copyright laws and treaties around the world. All such rights are reserved.
You may print off one copy, and may download extracts, of any page(s) from this site for your use, and you may draw the attention of others within your organisation to content posted on this site.
You must not modify the paper or digital copies of any materials you have printed off or downloaded in any way, and you must not use any illustrations, photographs, video or audio sequences or any graphics separately from any accompanying text.

No text or data mining, or web scraping
You shall not conduct, facilitate, authorise, or permit any text or data mining or web scraping in relation to this site or any services provided via, or in relation to, this site. This includes using (or permitting, authorising, or attempting the use of):
- Any “robot”, “bot”, “spider”, “scraper”, or other automated device, program, tool, algorithm, code, process, or methodology to access, obtain, copy, monitor, or republish any portion of the site or any data, content, information, or services accessed via the same
- Any automated analytical technique aimed at analysing text and data in digital form to generate information, which includes but is not limited to patterns, trends, and correlations
This clause shall not apply insofar as (but only to the extent that) we are unable to exclude or limit text or data mining or web scraping activity by contract under the laws which are applicable to us.

Our responsibility for loss or damage suffered by you
